Davis & Plomin Mechanical was part of a design-build-assist team in the design and construction of a new 371,000 square foot office building for the Kentucky State Government. This project was unique in that it was one of the first large scale P3 (public, private partnership) to take place in the state. The project was financed and built by private developers and will be leased back to the state for a pre-determined time frame.
The 371,000-square foot office building consisted of the following mechanical systems:
- (4) Variable volume air handlers with hot water and chilled water coils
- Ground mounted cooling towers
- Hot water boilers, water cooled chillers, and hydronic pump package
- Airside ductwork distribution throughout the facility
- Energy management and DDC temperature control system to allow for remote control and monitoring of the building mechanical systems. Control system was integrated in the state managed CEMCES program.
